Exams and Vaccinations

As many of us are aware there is an incredible amount of information out there about vaccines and their side effects. Often previously considered to be benign and harmless, vaccines can have very many serious side effects, including autoimmune disorders, epilepsy, encephalitis, allergies, behaviour problems, digestive disorders, cancer and death!
Due to the current research, our puppies will not have received any vaccinations before going to their new homes.
We recommend core vaccines be given between 12 and 16 weeks of age and titer test a month later to ensure that your new puppy has the necessary antibodies.
Please Give rabies at 5 to 6 months as usual and then not more than every 3 years as required by law.

5

When your puppy is ready to go home we’ll co-ordinate with you about the best way to get your puppy from here to there. Each situation is unique.

F.A.Q.

What Is The Waitlist Process?

We can not guarantee colors of puppies. We strive to produce healthy, happy puppies with wonderful temperaments. Color is a bonus! We are a family breeder, and raise all dogs and puppies in an environment without kennels or cages. We produce a limited quantity of puppies each year and employ a waitlist for those who desire one of our Bernedoodles. Our puppies are very popular and the waitlist for a Tricolor Bernedoodle of any variety is now several months. If you are open to gender or color, your wait may be significantly less.

To secure your place on a list, you will need to fill out our puppy application and provide a deposit. If you have questions or concerns, you don’t need to fill out the puppy application to contact us.

Are Bernedoodles Good with Children?

Our Bernedoodles make excellent companions for children. We often find that they have a special inclination towards little ones and will restrain their energy accordingly. While, we can’t promise that they won’t get into a little mischief together – we can promise that your Bernedoodle will be your child’s best friend and happily clean-up any spilled food during meal time.

Standard Bernedoodle Coat

Bernedoodles come in may different colours. A solid colour Bernedoodle may be black, sable, blue or silver. Solid colors generally have a white foot or two and sometimes a white blaze on the nose that may disappear by the time they mature.

A bi color Bernedoodle is classified as any Bernedoodle that has any separate two colours. Colours you may see in bi-colour Bernedoodles may be black and white, sable and white, silver and white, black and tan and more variations.

A Tri colour Bernedoodle has three different colours which may consist of black, white and tan and is considered the traditional Tri colour Bernedoodle. A sable, white, and black is considered a sable Tri Bernedoodle.

Any of these colours may carry the fading gene which is carried by many poodles which means that their coat colour may fade into much lighter colours as they mature . The sable colours sometimes fade to the extent that your sable Bernedoodle may actually be mistaken for their cousin, the Goldendoodle.

Shedding / Hypo-Allergenic Coat

Bernedoodles come in a few different coat types. First and most commonly you will see the longer more wavy coat which will generally be a minimally shedding coat. You may also see a curly coat which will generally be a minimal to nonshedding coat. When comparing the two coats the curly coat will almost certainly shed less than the wavy coat and may be more suitable for allergy sufferers.

Bernedoodle Temerament

With the Bernedoodle being a combination of two different breeds, it is common to see traits from both the Poodle and the Bernese. You will certainly see the intelligence and ease of training from the poodle side and the affectionate, loving Bernese Mountain Dog trait. Bernedoodles, like Bernese Mountain Dogs, can be a little wary around strangers, so early socialization is important. Something to keep in mind about this breed is that they need a lot of human attention and do not do well with being alone for very long periods at a time.

Bernedoodle Health

Bernedoodles, being a hybrid mix breed are very healthy. A hybrid mix breed is less likely to develop congenital health defects than a purebred due to the gene pool being much larger. That is not to say that is is not possible for a bernedoodle to develop a health problem, all breeds have the possibility to have health defects.
