Flea, Tick & Heart Worm Prevention

Flea and Tick Prevention
NEVER EVER EVER…. give ORAL (by mouth) pesticides for flea, tick and heart worm prevention.
Consider if you are dosing for flea, tick and heart worm how many pesticides you are putting into your puppy.
Too many dogs have overdosed on these pesticides, recommended by Vets ! The flea pills and chews all contain a pesticide called isoxazoline. They include products sold under the brand names Bravecto, Nexgard, Simparica and Credelio Isoxazoline. These products have been associated with neurologic adverse reactions including muscle tremors, ataxia (stumble or twitch) and horrible seizures. Symptoms may appear mild even dismissed by owners
the first dose and then escalate each dose given after. Vets will never suspect it is their pesticide that is the cause.

Oral medications are also slow release for the most part and some dogs/pups will process
this poison at different rates, overdosing, if they process faster than manufacturer plans.

Every dog is different. So it is up to owners to educate themselves and be aware !

I will only dose ALL my dogs if I have been away and find a flea/ one of my fur kids. DONE. No more doses. My dogs get ONE DOSE, which will kill all the parasites found on them.

Warning about Flea and Tick Medications
Flea and tick medications
Revolution or Advantix

REVOLUTION OR ADVANTIX ??

I get asked all the time “what product do you recommend for flea, tick and heartworm”.

If you need a product that one dose will take care of everything then you should consider Revolution which will work for Flea/Tick and Heartworm.

Revolution is not “targeted” for ticks. Revolution does require blood work for heart worm prior to your Vet giving you this product.

Adantix II is geared towards ticks and with the escalating incidence of Ticks from imported “rescue-marts”. We now recommend if you are going to use anything, to use Advantix. You can get Advantix dispensed without any blood work, and or you can buy at Petsmart instead of going to a Vet. So far, this product has worked for us.

PLEASE NOTE… like any treatment application dogs/parasites can become immune to effects, so if Advantix does not work for your dog in a heavily infested area, then consider another product but monitor your dog for side effects, which can, and will escalate, with each dose administered.

Never Ever use 2 or more pesticide products at a time, you will poison your puppy !

I do want people to keep in mind that applying pesticides is putting POISON into your puppy’s system at the same time you are compromising their immune system with injecting diseases (vaccines) into their growing bodies.

That being said, if you live in a location where fleas and ticks and heart worm is a huge concern and can harm your puppy, you do need to come up with a solution. So we recommend that you do not vaccinate when you are administering other products. Break it up if at all possible. Also never give Rabies the same time as other vaccines.

Please do not “bombard” your puppy with toxins if at all possible VETS DO NOT ALWAYS KNOW BEST !! Vaccinosis, Cancer, Autoimmune issues, Seizure and death can occur with any toxin you administer to your puppy or dog.

Toxic Soup in flea and tick medications
Our Mini Bernedoodles are raised FREE of disease and Toxins. Because our Mini Bernedoodles are breeding, we feel this is important for the health
of our Mini Bernedoodle Parents and puppies they produce, to be as toxin free as possible.

Some Breeders/Owners use a natural spray of a cedar product in their yard and house to lesson the chance of flea and or tick infestation in high risk areas.Even using cedar mulch in garden areas.

Some people also use chickens, along the edge of their property to keep the flea and or tick population down. It is good to know that there are natural yard products out there and available and perhaps in particularly high risk areas someone could choose to alternate natural for chemical products or use both to lessen the need for heavy chemical use. Hopefully as years go on, we will find a better solution.

Natural Flea, Tick and Parasite Control

For those people who want natural products
I have put together this page. We are getting a lot of people asking for alternative solutions for pest control and alternatives to using poisons on their animals.

After a lot of networking with Breeders I’m now able to provide some solutions listed below. I have not used them myself but I am providing this information for you to investigate for yourself. Most items listed can be found on Amazon, or Walmart, or google.

Repeat as necessary. Pets may be treated indoors or outdoors. Do not use on puppies under 12 weeks of age. In order to help reduce the occurrence of fleas & ticks this product is best used year round.

Apple Cider Vinegar:

Add about a teaspoon of vinegar into their drinking water. This is also good for there immune system.

Wet the soil first. Mix nematodes with water and spray onto the soil.
